Police have taped off an area on Stratford Road<\/p>\n

A machete attack has left two schoolboys injured after a disorder broke out on Stratford Road.<\/p>\n

The 14-year-old and 15-year-old boys were taken to hospital after a ‘targeted’ incident outside Boss Mart 3 in Shirley.<\/p>\n

It happened at around 9pm on Saturday, February 7, police have said.<\/p>\n

A third teenage boy was injured with a punch and did not require hospital treatment.<\/p>\n

Officers have since arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of wounding with intent and he remains in police custody.<\/p>\n

A police cordon and blue tent remain at the scene this afternoon (Sunday, February 8).<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police<\/a> said that extra officers will be in the area today following the unrest.<\/p>\n

They said: “We’ve arrested a teenage boy after three others were attacked in Shirley.<\/p>\n

“We were called to the Stratford Road in Shirley at around 9pm yesterday.<\/p>\n

“Two boys, aged 15 and 14, were taken to hospital with injuries which we believe were caused by a machete.<\/p>\n

“Their injuries are not life-threatening but both remain in hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

“Another teenage boy, aged 15, was also assaulted after being punched but did not go to hospital.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of wounding with intent.<\/p>\n

“He remains in custody as we continue with our enquiries.”<\/p>\n

The spokesperson appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.<\/p>\n

They added: “We believe the attack was targeted and we\u2019ll have extra officers in the area today to provide reassurance to the community.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re investigating and would urge people with witnesses or people with information such as dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact us on 101 quoting crime number 20\/140175\/26.<\/p>\n
