A woman has been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred while allegedly on her way to an ‘Anti-Zionist’ event in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> said officers had stopped a car the woman, aged 35, was travelling in in the Kings Heath<\/a> area at around 2.30pm today (Sunday, February 8) and detained her.<\/p>\n

The force said it was ‘acting on information that she was due to attend a launch event for the \u2018Anti-Zionist Movement\u2019, with the event promoted on Facebook as taking place in Moseley<\/a> at The Old Print Works.<\/p>\n

The woman was wanted by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of a Public Order Act offence, as part of an investigation by the London force into speeches and social media posts made between May and October last year in the capital and Birmingham.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Our officers continue to work to understand the plans of the organisers of today\u2019s event, which has been advertised as taking place in the Moseley area of Birmingham.<\/p>\n
