The death of a young woman whose body was discovered in Lurgan a week after she went missing has \u201ctouched every home\u201d in a Co Down<\/a> village.<\/p>\n

Police confirmed on Sunday the body located in the Princes Street area of Lurgan was that of 24-year-old Caitlin Green, originally from Gilford.<\/p>\n

\u201cA post-mortem examination has now concluded, and the death is not being treated as suspicious,\u201d a PSNI spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Ms Green, a mother of two, was last seen around 12.30pm on Saturday, January 31, after leaving a friend\u2019s house in the Derry Street\/Lord Lurgan Park area, close to Princes Street. The PSNI issued a public appeal for information on Thursday. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur village is devastated by the tragic loss of Caitlin Green. What began with hope, prayers, and the community coming together to search has ended in heartbreak beyond words,\u201d wrote the Gilford Community Events Group in a post on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to express our deepest and most sincere sympathy to her family and loved ones. Our hearts are completely broken for you.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis loss has touched every home in our village. We stand together in grief, in support, and in solidarity with the family at this unimaginable time. You are not alone, our entire community is with you.\u201d <\/p>\n

In a statement on Saturday police confirmed that the body of a woman was located in the Princes Street area of Lurgan on Saturday afternoon, and said Caitlin\u2019s family was informed. <\/p>\n

DUP<\/a> MP Carla Lockhart said the news Ms Green\u2019s body was discovered was \u201ctragic news\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts are broken for a local family facing an unimaginable loss,\u201d the Upper Bann MP said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with Caitlin\u2019s family, her friends, and especially her children at this incredibly difficult time. Today, a family is grieving, and they deserve privacy, dignity, and compassion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe outpouring of support from the community has been phenomenal, and I know in the days ahead this family will need everyone to continue to rally around them in prayer and in practical support. But above all else, I would encourage everyone to respect the family as they navigate these early, painful days.<\/p>\n
