\n\tThe Minions<\/a> are back with more scheming in the Super Bowl<\/a> trailer<\/a> for their latest cinematic adventure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring the game, a spot aired that showed a minion running toward the camera with a white background, yelling \u201cminions\u201d and then \u201cmonster,\u201d following by a roar from an unseen creature. \u201cWatch the trailer,\u201d the spot told viewers, officially revealing the title of the film: Minions & Monsters. \n\tUniversal<\/a> Pictures releases filmmaker Pierre Coffin<\/a>\u2018s animated sequel in theaters July 1. The Minions were first introduced as sidekicks to former supervillain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) in the 2010 title Despicable Me<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tCoffin, who directed the first three Despicable Me films and the first Minions spinoff movie, is helming Minions & Monsters from a script from Brian Lynch. Coffin voices the yellow mischief-makers in the feature that hails from Illumination and counts Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan as producers.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Minions were last seen on the big screen in 2024\u2019s\u00a0Despicable Me 4<\/a>, which followed the 2022 release of the characters\u2019 second spinoff film,\u00a0Minions: The Rise of Gru. Between the\u00a0Despicable Me\u00a0and\u00a0Minions\u00a0movies, the Minions characters have helped push the franchise to nearly $5 billion at the worldwide box office.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a 2024 interview timed to the release of Despicable Me 4, that film\u2019s director, Chris Renaud, told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that the franchise\u2019s team had been exploring new possible installments for the characters. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere are always conversations like that, and what we can do and where we can go with the characters,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cNothing specific at the moment, particularly since I just finished this one, but there are always those conversations on, \u2018Where else can they go and what changes can we make? How can we keep it exciting and fresh? We\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n
