{"id":752545,"date":"2026-02-09T10:40:13","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T10:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/752545\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T10:40:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T10:40:13","slug":"glasgow-launches-centre-for-ai-cognitive-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/752545\/","title":{"rendered":"Glasgow Launches Centre for AI \u2018Cognitive Cities\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gla.ac.uk\/research\/az\/isac\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Centre for Integrated Sensing and Communication Enabling Cognitive Cities<\/a> (ISAC\u00b3) will bring together researchers from engineering, computing science, cybersecurity and public health, alongside specialists in innovation, business, social science and urban planning.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The centre\u2019s focus is on integrating sensing, communications and computing so that urban systems can move beyond real-time monitoring towards predictive operation using artificial intelligence and advanced sensor networks.<\/p>\n<p>The university said cognitive city approaches would build on the concept of smart cities, which typically provide live information on city operations, by applying AI analytics to data gathered from distributed sensors and mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>These systems are seen as enabling sensing, communication and action to operate in parallel, with the aim of spotting developing problems earlier and supporting more timely interventions by city operators.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Professor Qammer H.
