Celtic and Rangers<\/a> have been told by cops the clubs themselves can sort out the Scottish Cup ticket situation.<\/p>\n The Glasgow giants are set to get around the table to thrash out a deal over fans after being drawn together in next months\u2019 cup clash at Ibrox.<\/p>\n Celtic<\/a> are entitled to up to 20 percent of the stadium\u2019s capacity \u2013 around 10,000 briefs \u2013 for the tie under SFA rules and Record Sport<\/strong> revealed on Monday the Hoops are going to push for the full whack<\/a>.<\/p>\n But there are no guarantees they will be allowed the bumper allowance as there numbers can be chopped if there are concerns over safety and segregation.<\/p>\n The figures will be thrashed out at the match pre-ops meeting in the coming weeks and the authorities will have an input.<\/p>\n But Police Scotland has told Record Sport they WON\u2019T be making any demands on the clubs \u2013 and it will be up to them to sort it out.<\/p>\n A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Ticket allocation is a matter for the clubs and football authorities.<\/p>\n “A proportionate policing plan will be in place to maintain public safety and minimise disruption ahead of the fixture at Ibrox in March 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n Celtic will have around 2,000 fans in Ibrox for the Premiership clash on March 1 after the sides agreed to increase away numbers following seven years of restricted entry.<\/p>\n But Celts are hoping for a return to receiving at least the entire Broomloan Stand \u2013 with 7000 seats \u2013 for the cup showdown the following weekend.<\/p>\n Rangers are awaiting Parkhead chiefs making their official request before assessing their options.<\/p>\n Gers had around 2500 punters at Celtic Park for the league encounter at New Year after both clubs negotiated certain safety measures at both grounds \u2013 including nets \u2013 on the back of several derby flashpoints.<\/p>\n Follow Record Sport <\/strong>on Twitter<\/a>, Facebook<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond.<\/p>\n You can get all the news you need on our dedicated Rangers<\/a> and Celtic<\/a> pages, and sign up to our newsletters<\/a> to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season.
