A man has been banned from entering Castle Park for two years after he was found with “a large amount” of cannabis.<\/p>\n

Najib Abdi, 33 and of Somerdale Avenue in Knowle<\/a>, was given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) when he was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court<\/a> on Thursday, January 29.<\/p>\n

He was sentenced for possession with intent to supply a class B drug (cannabis) and, alongside the CBO, was also sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for 24 months.<\/p>\n

Abdi pleaded guilty<\/a> to the offences at an earlier hearing after the incident in February 2025.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police<\/a> said he was initially arrested for possessing a large amount of cannabis in Castle Park on Thursday, February 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

Abdi is banned from entering the park for the next two years.<\/p>\n

PC Max Sims, officer in the case, said: \u201cWe are aware of concerns relating to drug offences and related disorder in Castle Park, and we will continue to carry out high-visibility patrols to identify and address any incidents in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis result means Abdi is now prohibited from entering the park for the next two years and is another positive step in ensuring the area remains a safe and welcoming space for all who use it.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “A man has been banned from entering Castle Park in Bristol after being sentenced for drug possession and supply charges.<\/p>\n

“Najib Abdi, 33, of Somerdale Avenue, Knowle, was given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and nine months in prison, suspended for 24 months, when he was sentenced for possession with intent to supply a class B drug (cannabis) at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday 29 January.<\/p>\n
