Thanks!<\/p>\n<p>This came after the firm was included in the <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fca.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Financial Conduct Authority<\/a>\u2019s registry of licensed <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/register.fca.org.uk\/s\/firm?id=001Sk00000gray1IAA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">cryptocurrency<\/a> companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy operating as a registered crypto asset business under the FCA, we are doubling down on our commitment to security and transparency,\u201d Blockchain.com said in the post.<\/p>\n<p>Blockchain.com chose to withdraw its application for FCA licensing in March 2022 after not getting approval ahead of an impending deadline, CoinDesk <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2026\/02\/10\/blockchain-com-wins-uk-registration-nearly-four-years-after-abandoning-fca-process\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reported<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The U.K. registration lets Blockchain.com carry out certain crypto-related activities in that country so long as it adheres to money laundering and counter-terrorist financing rules, the report said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<p>However, the FCA\u2019s licensing system for crypto firms stops short of full financial services authorization, something due to be included in a new licensing framework that is scheduled to go into effect in October 2027, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The FCA has begun publishing information designed to help companies get ready for the new <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/cryptocurrency\/2026\/united-kingdom-fca-helps-crypto-firms-prepare-new-regulatory-regime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">regulatory<\/a> regime.<\/p>\n<p>The new rules \u201cwill expand the FCA\u2019s regulatory remit to include protecting consumers from poor business practices, helping to build trust in the crypto sector, and ensuring that firms are operationally resilient and prepared to fight crime,\u201d PYMNTS reported Jan. 9. \u201cMany of the proposed rules already apply to traditional financial firms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The crypto industry in the U.K. backed a decision by the FCA last year to end its prohibition on offering crypto exchange-traded products to retail investors. Members of the sector compared the move to the so-called \u201cBig Bang\u201d regulatory rollbacks that took place in the U.K. in 1986 and said it could usher in a \u201c<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/cryptocurrency\/2025\/crypto-sector-praises-seismic-shift-in-uk-regulations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">seismic shift<\/a>\u201d in the acceptance and adoption of digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>In other crypto news, the industry has begun seeing investors turn their attention to <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/investment-tracker\/2026\/crypto-vcs-ditch-tokens-for-ai-and-prediction-markets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">prediction markets<\/a> and AI companies.
