Manchester United want to sign Premier League<\/a> stars Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for a combined \u00a3125million. The Red Devils will target forwards in the summer transfer window<\/a>, with Ruben Amorim<\/a> keen to reshape his goal-shy attack.<\/p>\n

United are ready to sell Marcus Rashford<\/a> and Antony<\/a>, who were both sent out on loan in January, while Rasmus Hojlund<\/a> and Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> have been linked with big-money moves away<\/a>. Their lack of cutting edge was on show until a late fightback in Sunday’s topsy-turvy 4-3 defeat away to Brentford<\/a>, as 17-year-old striker Chido Obi was given a chance up front but failed to score.<\/p>\n

United chiefs have now targeted Mbeumo and Cunha, who they believe can transform Amorim’s side. Wolves<\/a> forward Cunha, 25, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford<\/a> in recent weeks, with the Red Devils prepared to trigger his \u00a365m release clause.<\/p>\n

Now the Telegraph<\/a> report that United have joined the race to sign \u00a360m-rated Mbeumo. The Brentford winger is high on their shortlist but has also been linked with Arsenal<\/a>, Liverpool<\/a> and Newcastle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The French-born Cameroon<\/a> international was unable to add to his impressive tally of 18 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season when Brentford hosted United on Sunday, although he did end up on the winning side. The Red Devils’ interest in Mbeumo is reported to be separate to their pursuit of Cunha.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the Premier League clash, Brentford boss Thomas Frank<\/a> admitted that Mbeumo could leave this summer but won’t be sold on the cheap. “I’m the head coach, I want my best players to stay forever,” Frank told Sky Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he’s thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don’t know.<\/p>\n

“I’ve said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world<\/a> who aren’t selling clubs.<\/p>\n

“So, of course, if the right price – and that’s going to be expensive – is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open for it. But I’m very happy he’s here, and I’m convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here.”<\/p>\n

Towards the end of last season, Mbeumo said that he wanted to ‘play for the best clubs’. The 25-year-old revealed to L’Equipe<\/a>: “I have spent five years at Brentford, at a club that has allowed me to grow and pass a milestone but yes, I would like to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs. It is tantalising to see some big clubs interested in me. We will see.”<\/p>\n
