A man has been arrested in connection with the death of James Greenhorn who died near his home in Glasgow’s Tollcross on Monday.<\/p>\n

A man has been arrested following the death of a man in Glasgow. James Greenhorn, 61, died following a disturbance near his home in Tollcross on Monday.<\/p>\n

The dad-of-two was walking to the local shop when was allegedly stabbed. was pronounced dead at the scene in Dalness Close, Tollcross, after police<\/a> were called to reports of a disturbance around 12.25pm on Monday, February 9.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland has now confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 30-year-old man has been arrested following the death of a man in Tollcross, Glasgow on Monday, 9 February 2026.<\/p>\n

“Around 12.25pm, police were called to Dalness Close where James Greenhorn, from the Tollcross area, was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries remain ongoing.”<\/p>\n

Cops swarmed the Glasgow<\/a> street on Monday, which sits just yards from the nearby St Paul\u2019s Primary School.<\/p>\n

Pictures taken from the scene showed the area cordoned off<\/a> with detectives at the scene.<\/p>\n

Forensic officers in white boiler suits could also be seen combing the scene.<\/p>\n

Police were making door-to-door inquiries as the investigation into James\u2019 death continued on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

A large cordon was placed around Dalness Close and a uniformed officer was seen standing guard outside a home on the street.<\/p>\n

Some worried locals could be seen asking police what had happened while others were being directed around the cordon.<\/p>\n

James’ daughter, Shannon Greenhorn, 29, was due to appear for deferred sentencing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday but was excused due to her ordeal.<\/p>\n

Shannon had previously pleaded guilty to four different charge sheets which span between April 2024 and March 2025. Greenhorn admitted a string of offences which include assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n

She has also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner. Sheriff Joanna McDonald fixed a new deferred sentence hearing for March.<\/p>\n
