The work will be carried out by Aureos Highways.

The project includes resurfacing the carriageway and upgrading drainage and pavements along Queen’s Drive between Dovedale Road and Mossley Hill Drive.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday 23 March and is expected to last around 18 weeks. During the early stages, surveys and investigations will take place, with lane closures and temporary traffic lights in operation. Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for journeys.

As the main upgrade progresses, temporary one-way road closures will be introduced, with signed diversion routes in place.

The council says the improvements will reduce the need for frequent maintenance in the future, helping to cut down on reactive roadworks in the area.

Residents and businesses affected by the scheme will be invited to a drop-in session closer to the start date, where staff will share details of the programme and answer questions.

Councillor Dan Barrington, Cabinet Member for Transport and Connectivity, said well-used roads can deteriorate over time and require repeated repairs.

He said carrying out resurfacing and drainage upgrades now will create a safer environment for road users and help improve traffic flow, adding that the works are part of a wider commitment to upgrading key routes across Liverpool.

Keep up with all of Liverpool City Council’s news here.
Get the latest news around all of the City Region on our website.

Find out what’s good up North on our new platform, The Northern Guide.

From the best hotels, beauty spots, days out, food and more up North – visit thenorthernguide.com and follow The Northern Guide on Instagram HERE.

Highway improvement works on Queen’s Drive will start next month as Liverpool City Council begins a major upgrade…

[8815
748,393,4884,179,26993,223239,37416,16,15
post-759295","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-liverpool","tag-britain","tag-england","tag-great-britain","tag-liverpool","tag-liverpool-city-council","tag-queens-drive","tag-roadworks","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom
["GET
