\t\tSouth Liverpool Homes (SLH) has submitted plans to Liverpool City Council for a new development that will deliver approximately 57 homes off Aigburth Road in South Liverpool.<\/p>\n
The proposed scheme will offer a mix of apartments for social rent, Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy, \u201cproviding more choice for customers in one of Liverpool\u2019s most desirable locations\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Alexandra Drive development will see the renovation of a listed Victorian villa on the site, formerly used as care home. The historic building will be converted into 17 apartments for social rent, preserving its heritage while bringing it back into use.<\/p>\n
The development will also see a new, purpose-built apartment block constructed to the rear of the villa, facing Aigburth Road.<\/p>\n
Subject to planning approval, work is expected to start in spring 2027. The scheme is designed by Falconer Chester Hall.<\/p>\n
This marks SLH\u2019s largest mixed-tenure development outside of Speke and Garston, where the organisation currently manages approximately 3,800 homes. It is part of SLH\u2019s wider commitment to build 780 homes across South Liverpool by 2032, helping to address the growing demand for affordable housing, with over 2,000 people currently on its waiting list.<\/p>\n
Angela Perry, SLH\u2019s executive director of assets and neighbourhoods, says: \u201cWe are really excited about the plans for this development in Aigburth, which will provide much-needed homes in a highly desirable area.<\/p>\n
