A Scots holiday <\/a>flight has been forced to divert after declaring a mid-air emergency.<\/p>\n The Jet2 plane, which departed from Edinburgh Airport<\/a>, issued a 700 squawk code on Monday morning.<\/p>\n The LS3915 flight, which was due to arrive in Rome <\/a>later this morning, took off at around 6.50am after it was initially due to leave the airport at 6.15am.<\/p>\n However, around 30 minutes into the journey<\/a>, the pilot declared the emergency.<\/p>\n The plane was diverted to Birmingham Airport<\/a> at around 7.30am.<\/p>\n Images from FlightRadar24 show the aircraft travelling south until it flies over Stoke-on-Trent.<\/a><\/p>\n The plane <\/a>starts to pass Birmingham Airport but u-turns, looping around it in the sky.<\/p>\n It then landed safely at the airport <\/a>at around 7.40am.<\/p>\n The nature of the on-board emergency <\/a>is currently unknown.<\/p>\n It is also unclear when passengers <\/a>will be able to resume their journeys.<\/p>\n The Record has approached Jet2 <\/a>for comment.<\/p>\n We’ll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story.<\/p>\n![\"The](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1746434771_444_0_CapturePNG.png\")
