We know that Mo Salah is a top target for the Saudi Pro League.

“It was a couple of seasons ago when Al Ittihad made that big £150million offer, which was rejected by Liverpool.

“Look, it’s not been a great season for Mo Salah on and off the pitch. He obviously had that bust-up with Arne Slot, and then obviously his form’s not been anywhere near as good as it was last season, which was going to be hard to replicate.

“He’s back in favour right now, but I think his long-term future is definitely in doubt.

“He’s in the final 18 months of his contract, come the summer he will just have a year left on this lucrative contract and maybe it could be the right time for a parting of the ways for everybody.”

Aston Villa still have no plans to sign Harvey Elliott permanently

One of Salah’s former teammates who could return to Anfield this summer, Elliott, has certainly not enjoyed his football while out on loan at Aston Villa.

That is because he has barely played any games, with Villa refusing to meet the 10-appearance mark that would see his loan become a £35m obligation to buy.

Credit: Imago

Unai Emery and the Villa board have held talks with Liverpool over a potential re-negotiation of the clause, but they are still not willing to hand him three more appearances this season as it stands.

Football Insider have also revealed this week that Villa still have no intention of signing Elliott permanently, even for a cut-price fee, so any new deal would have to be a straight loan or include an option to buy him.

(Credit: Imago) Fri 13 February 2026 9:15, UK Liverpool are set to be open to letting Mo Salah…

[8815
748,393,4884,179,6804,1128,16,15
0":"post-761453","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-liverpool","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-great-britain","11":"tag-liverpool","12":"tag-mo-salah","13":"tag-mohamed-salah","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
