A 71-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Salford.<\/strong><\/p>\n The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene on Eccles Old Road around 9pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n He was struck by a car as he attempted to cross the second lane near the junction with Manor Road.<\/p>\n A 68-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
