{"id":76284,"date":"2025-05-05T11:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-05T11:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/76284\/"},"modified":"2025-05-05T11:05:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-05T11:05:09","slug":"tracy-austin-and-jim-courier-disagree-over-who-is-more-likely-to-win-a-grand-slam-out-of-alexander-zverev-jakub-mensik-and-joao-fonseca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/76284\/","title":{"rendered":"Tracy Austin and Jim Courier disagree over who is more likely to win a Grand Slam out of Alexander Zverev, Jakub Mensik and Joao Fonseca"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The clay court season is building towards the French Open, which gets underway in Paris later this month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The French Open continues the 2025 Grand Slam season, with Jannik Sinner and Madison Keys having won the Australian Open titles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> number one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/how-many-ranking-points-jannik-sinner-is-set-to-lose-after-three-month-ban-and-what-impact-it-will-have\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner accepted a three-month ban<\/a> after lifting the trophy in Melbourne, with his comeback now imminent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/features\/the-top-10-players-with-the-most-consecutive-weeks-as-atp-number-one-as-jannik-sinner-surpasses-bjorn-borg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner has maintained his spot atop the world rankings<\/a>, with the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander Zverev<\/a> and Carlos Alcaraz failing to capitalise on his absence.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian is expected to return on home soil at the Rome Masters before returning to Grand Slam action at the French Open.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2196007651-1.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Quinn Rooney\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-86599\" \/>Photo by Quinn Rooney\/Getty ImagesTracy Austin backs Alexander Zverev Grand Slam success over Joao Fonseca and Jakub Mensik<\/p>\n<p>A losing finalist at last year\u2019s French Open and this year\u2019s Australian Open, Zverev has now been involved in a debate alongside rising stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/joao-fonseca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joao Fonseca<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jakub-mensik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jakub Mensik<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Discussing who is most likely to win a major among the trio, former world number one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/tracy-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tracy Austin<\/a> said on the Tennis Channel Live Podcast: \u201cI am going to go with Zverev because he has gotten there a couple of times.
