and wave a final farewell &#8211; to the foodie spots, watering holes, and others that have closed their doors for the last time over the past month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This month has seen much heartbreak from locals who have lost some of their favourite haunts for a bite to eat, an exceptional tipple, and some socialising.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In amongst the list for April is a seafront <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/cafes\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"cafeLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">cafe<\/a>, a beloved Bristol <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/pubs-and-bars-in-bristol\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"barLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bar<\/a>, a pizzeria and some of Bristolians&#8217; favourite restaurants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Which of this are you going to miss most &#8211; and which would you campaign to bring back immediately?<\/p>\n<p>The Bay, Weston<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_The-Bay-weston-2.jpg\" alt=\"The Bay at Weston-super-Mare is closing soon to make way for the new Tropicana.\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Bay at Weston-super-Mare is closing soon to make way for the new Tropicana.(Image: Phoebe Hobbs)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Address: <\/strong>Marine Parade, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1BE<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">BristolLive reported that The Bay Cafe in Weston-super-Mare had written a farewell letter, which it displayed in its window on April 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Bay, which was located on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.somersetlive.co.uk\/all-about\/weston-super-mare\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Weston-super-Mare&#8217;s famous seafront<\/a>, announced it would be closing to make way for the newly-renovated Tropicana events venue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Work on The Tropicana, which has received<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.somersetlive.co.uk\/news\/local-news\/seaside-towns-tropicana-plans-fail-9885276\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u00a38.7 million from the government&#8217;s levelling up fund,<\/a> is set to finish by March 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It is hoped that the 5,000 seater venue will put the town back on the map.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Bay closed its doors on Monday, April 21 to clear space for the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In early 2022, The Food Hub (Passion and Soul Food) was selected by <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/north-somerset\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">North Somerset<\/a> Council to operate The Bay Caf\u00e9 as a concession, in preparation for the exciting SEEMonster installation at the Tropicana.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It had originally been planned as a six month venture, but was extended to three years in the end. According to the official Dough Heads website, the independent pizzeria &#8211; which serves up Neapolitan-style pizzas using its own four-day ferment dough &#8211; will be closing in June, with its last trading day falling on Friday, June 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In a statement, the team said: &#8220;Espensen Spirit our landlords and friends, are selling 86 Whitehall Road this year to move into a new space and we have made the difficult decision not to move on to a new premises of our own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;For the past five years, we&#8217;ve had an amazing time serving up pizza and cocktails to the brilliant people of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/easton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Easton<\/a>, St George and beyond.
