Ruben Amorim has insisted that one Manchester United player is \u201cgoing to understand\u201d what it is like playing in certain matches after the loss to Brentford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brentford hosted Manchester United<\/a> at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday and Thomas Frank\u2019s<\/a> men sealed all three Premier League points on the weekend.<\/p>\n

Mason Mount<\/a> opened the scoring for United<\/a> in the first half against Brentford before the Red Devils conceded after Luke Shaw<\/a> put the ball in the back of his own net.<\/p>\n

Brentford took the lead against United<\/a> after Kevin Schade netted for the Bees and Thomas Frank\u2019s side went into half-time with a 2-1 scoreline on the board.<\/p>\n

Frank\u2019s men extended their advantage at the Gtech Community Stadium in the second half after Kevin Schade completed his brace and Yoane Wissa scored.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim\u2019s<\/a> side fought back after going 4-2 down and Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> netted in the 82nd minute before Amad Diallo<\/a> scored deep into injury time.<\/p>\n

United fell to their whopping 16th Premier League defeat of the 2024-25 campaign and the Red Devils languish in 15th place with three league matches remaining.<\/p>\n

Manchester United manager<\/a> Ruben Amorim dropped Rasmus Hojlund<\/a> to the bench and instead started Chido Obi-Martin<\/a> in the frontline against Brentford.<\/p>\n

Chido Obi-Martin made history for United<\/a> on the weekend by becoming the youngest-ever player to start a match for the Red Devils in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

The 17-year-old Red Devils striker, who arrived at Old Trafford<\/a> in 2024 after he left the Arsenal academy, played the full 90 minutes in Sunday\u2019s 4-3 defeat.<\/p>\n

Chido\u2019s performance caught the eye of United fans<\/a> and the Red Devils talent was unable to make a real impact in the final third against Brentford.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the contest at the Gtech Community Stadium, Amorim admitted that Chido showed he was \u201creally naive sometimes\u201d with his body movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s really important because you can train a lot with the first team, but to have that feeling, playing with the players, feeling the players, the speed of the game, I think is the best thing,\u201d he said, as per Manchester United\u2019s official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, again, I think they did quite well. Chido [Obi] fought all the game, but you can feel it is really naive sometimes in the way he puts his body.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s going to understand what is the feeling of playing in these kind of games. This is the best way.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we can take that as a positive, but the rest we lose. We didn\u2019t win points, so it\u2019s just that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim makes his position clear on Man Utd\u2019s upcoming Europa League semi-final tie vs Athletic Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

United defeated Athletic Club 3-0<\/a> in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals and Amorim is refusing to play down the importance of the second-leg tie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s stressful to lose games,\u201d he said after the Brentford match, as per Manchester United\u2019s official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we\u2019re fighting for a title, it\u2019s not stressful. I have no doubts that we are playing better and we are understanding the way we play, even in this context.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we have to take all the hits in this moments. We are losing games in the Premier League, but we are fighting for the Europa League, so we need to accept that and to think about now [is] Thursday, which is the most important game for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
