Conor McGregor is continuing his training in the hope of making a grand UFC return.<\/strong><\/p>\n

McGregor<\/a> has reiterated that he wants to make a fighting comeback at the UFC White House card<\/a>, which is expected to take place on June 14.<\/p>\n

Nothing has been confirmed, but UFC<\/a> CEO Dana White<\/a> has revealed that he expects matchmaking for the White Show to be completed by this weekend.<\/p>\n

Michael Chandler<\/a> was widely touted to be McGregor’s opponent for the card based on the pair’s history on The Ultimate Fighter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, White dismissed that idea<\/a> and called ‘BS’ on a report that suggested the Irishman would face Colby Covington<\/a>, who explained to talkSPORT.com why the fight is unlikely<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, McGregor is putting in the hard yards, having returned to training<\/a> last month at Straight Blast Gym (SBG) Ireland.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old took to Instagram on Friday to share more footage of his progress, and MMA fans have generally been left impressed.<\/p>\n

In one of the videos, McGregor can be seen narrowly missing a spinning wheel kick \u2014 the same one Mauricio Ruffy knocked out King Green<\/a> with at UFC 313.<\/p>\n

Responding to McGregor’s sparring with fellow Irishman Eoin Sheridan, who has fought for the PFL and stands at an almighty 6’5″, one fan wrote: “He’s still got it.”<\/p>\n

Another said: “There’s a new officer in town, his name’s McGregor.”<\/p>\n

A third added: “Karate style is what made him so unique. I don’t understand why he gave that up for the boxing stance.”<\/p>\n

While a fourth responded: “Yes, we need spinning wheel kick Conor back asap.”<\/p>\n

More fans admitted that ‘Conor has the tools’ and he ‘looks sharp.’<\/p>\n

McGregor claims he’s all-in to make a fighting comeback, but UFC welterweight Covington has questioned whether the Irishman still has the motivation to make a return.<\/p>\n

“What’s the motivation to get locked in that cage and have that hungry dog in you to kill another man?” Covington said.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know how realistic it is.”<\/p>\n

McGregor hasn’t fought in five years, having suffered back-to-back defeats to Dustin Poirier<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n
