Daniel Dubois’ Head of Performance Analysis Mohammed Ali insists the team want a third chance at trying to beat Oleksandr Usyk.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dubois was beaten resoundingly by a rampant Usyk<\/a> in the pair’s second meeting last July with the undisputed heavyweight titles on the line.<\/p>\n

The Briton looked a level below the masterful Ukrainian on the night, but is still just 28-years-old and has a bright future ahead of him.<\/p>\n

And that much is clear, with the power-punching phenom immediately thrust into a world title shot in his return.<\/p>\n

He will face domestic rival Fabio Wardley<\/a> in a blockbuster clash on May 9 for the WBO belt, a shot at becoming a two-time champion at the first time of asking.<\/p>\n

It is set to be a big year for Dubois, with victory likely to once again leave him in position to secure the biggest fights around.<\/p>\n

And Ali, a pivotal member of team Dubois, believes that their entire camp is still obsessed with the chance to try and become the first to beat Usyk.<\/p>\n

He explained in an exclusive chat with talkSPORT.com: “Dubois is a magnificent fighter, he did everything right in camp.<\/p>\n

“The difference was the experience really on the night, but this is something Daniel would revisit again.<\/p>\n

“He’s done it now and he knows exactly what went wrong, he knows where his weaknesses are.<\/p>\n

“You are looking at a guy who is going to win a world title, he has tasted an undisputed fight once and he will go on to win it.”<\/p>\n

Could Dubois beat Usyk?<\/p>\n

Dubois fared slightly better in his maiden clash with Usyk in 2023, where he landed a controversial low blow which appeared to wind the champion.<\/p>\n

He began well against his compatriot in the second bout, but came up short with the Ukrainian simply too good.<\/p>\n

But Ali believes the experience of fighting for undisputed stakes is now under his belt, and he is capable of producing the goods.<\/p>\n

“I think because of the experience he will be able to beat Usyk,” he continued.<\/p>\n

“Your mind processes things differently, there will be a lot of nerves but because of his experience he will know exactly what to do.<\/p>\n

“I’ve always said to him you will be undisputed champion, the trilogy and becoming undisputed champion is something I know that Don [Charles, Dubois’ trainer] has on his mind.<\/p>\n

“This is where he is going to places, and Wardley is just one of the people on the journey.”<\/p>\n

For now, every ounce of focus from Dubois’ camp will go towards the huge meeting with Wardley.<\/p>\n

‘Dynamite’ had been training with Tony Sims, but has since decided to return to trainer Don Charles<\/a>, whom he split with after losing to Usyk.<\/p>\n

Charles had Dubois in the form of his life prior to the defeat and led him to world title glory.<\/p>\n

And Ali believes it is a combination that will reap the benefits again, steering him back to the big time in just one fight.<\/p>\n

He added: “Daniel just has to do it on the night, he is a magnificent fighter.<\/p>\n

“We need to make sure he gets a good camp under his belt, we can work him out and deal with him on the night.<\/p>\n

“He would become two-time, it is made for him.
