A Britain\u2019s Got Talent<\/a> contestant has urged fans to remember she\u2019s only \u2018human\u2019 after receiving intense backlash during Saturday\u2019s semi-final.<\/p>\n Yorkshire native Stacey Leadbetter, 29, who made it through auditions after wowing the judges with her voice<\/a>, was in the line-up for semi-final number two.<\/p>\n And she took to the stage to perform a stirring rendition of Demi Lovato<\/a>\u2019s song Anyone, which was released in 2020 and performed at the Grammys<\/a> that year by Demi.<\/p>\n She brought the house down with her version of the song, which judge Simon Cowell<\/a> described as a \u2018regular\u2019 person living out their dream to \u2018do something else\u2019.<\/p>\n Her performance clearly won over those watching at home as well<\/a>, with Stacey progressing into the final alongside Golden Buzzer dance act Olly Pearson.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Britain’s Got Talent\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s TV Newsletter.<\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your show in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you.<\/p>\n Upon finding out she was in the final, she said: \u2018I can\u2019t even explain it, thank you so much! Oh my god, I don\u2019t have the words! Thank you so much for believing in me, it means everything to me.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/p>\n However, when you\u2019re on your way to making thousands of friends, you\u2019re unfortunately bound to make a few enemies too \u2013 and Stacey felt their wrath over the weekend.<\/p>\n After the result was revealed, several people took to social media to call Stacey a \u2018pub singer\u2019 and argue that fellow singer Linda Mudzenda should have progressed to the final the previous night instead.<\/p>\n Those who watched the live show also claimed to have heard booing from the audience as impressionist Will Burns was eliminated in second place.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t\t\tWho has gone through to the Britain’s Got Talent 2025 final?\t\t\t<\/p>\n Vinnie Mckee \u2013 Won the public vote<\/p>\n The Blackouts \u2013 Golden Buzzer<\/p>\n Stacey Leadbetter \u2013 Won the public vote<\/p>\n Olly Pearson \u2013 Golden Buzzer<\/p>\n There were even accusations that BGT bosses had \u2018fixed\u2019 the result and that a \u2018mediocre\u2019 act shouldn\u2019t have made it through to the live finals.<\/p>\n Stacey, having seen such comments, took to Instagram on Sunday morning to address the backlash and defend her rightful place in the final.<\/p>\n \u2018I have seen so many not so kind comments since waking up this morning! Which I guess is understandable, as people get upset, angry and frustrated when they don\u2019t get the results that they want.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018But please remember I am a human being and I have feelings. All the other contestants who you all supported are amazing, beyond amazing and all deserved a spot and are now my lifelong friends.\u2019<\/p>\n She continued: \u2018But I can assure you that if they read some of the comments you\u2019re saying they would not agree with the hurtful things you\u2019re saying.\u2019<\/p>\n Hold her head high, she concluded: \u2018But I\u2019d like to add. I am strong! I am proud.
