Liverpool will attack the transfer market this summer in a bid to retain their Premier League title, talkSPORT understands.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> announced he is leaving the Reds<\/a> on Monday, while Caoimhin Kelleher and Darwin Nunez are expected to be sold.<\/p>\n

A number of Premier League clubs are ready to make Kelleher their first-choice goalkeeper<\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a> have been quiet in the market since Arne Slot was hired as their head coach last summer.<\/p>\n

Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili, who arrives in the summer from Valencia, their only real incomings during Slot’s<\/a> tenure so far.<\/p>\n

talkSPORT understands Liverpool are likely to splash the cash this summer with a new left-back, centre-back and striker on their radar.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Fulham\u2019s Antonee Robinson are targets to replace the struggling Andy Robertson.<\/p>\n

Robertson is 31 and has a contract until 2026, but has seen a significant drop off in his level.<\/p>\n

Liverpool will also rival Arsenal and Manchester United in the striker market during the transfer window.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah continues to take the goalscoring burden with 33 goals in all competitions, but goals have been hard to come by through the middle.<\/p>\n

Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have combined for just 15 goals all campaign.<\/p>\n

Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen are all contenders to lead the line at Anfield from next season.<\/p>\n

As for centre-backs, Ibrahima Konate is in talks over a new deal while Jarell Quansah could be moved on.<\/p>\n

Liverpool retain an interest in Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen, who has a \u00a350million release clause and is also of interest to Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although the Reds have been limited with incomings, this could change in the summer off the back of their Premier League victory.<\/p>\n

They won the title with four games to spare courtesy of a thumping 5-1 win at home to Tottenham towards the end of April.<\/p>\n

However, they are yet to secure back-to-back Premier League crowns as their first honour came in 2020.<\/p>\n

Smart summer spending would boost them towards a third title in 2026 and continue Slot’s excellent start to life at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Liverpool’s rivals are also likely to strengthen, particularly Arsenal as they look set to finish second for a third consecutive season.<\/p>\n

Manchester City have endured a difficult campaign and will want to make up for their shortcomings next time round.<\/p>\n

Chelsea, who beat Liverpool 3-1 on Sunday, could continue their big spending following their brief title claims earlier in the season.<\/p>\n

Speaking to talkSPORT in April, the Reds hero told his former club what they need to do in the summer…<\/p>\n

They’ve been absolutely outstanding this season, it is amazing what Slot has done in his first season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I think about five, six weeks ago there was a bit of a wobble. It was down to seven or eight points and we all thought if they drop another couple then the Arsenal game is still to come.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the way they recovered showed what a great team they are because whenever they had a setback, they came back even stronger.<\/p>\n

I’m not sure whether anyone won the league without signing the player the summer before.\u00a0 I think it makes his achievement even greater.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If they keep their team together, obviously in Salah and Van Dijk they keep two of their most important players.<\/p>\n

Alexander-Arnold will go, so you’ve got Conor Bradley there. Maybe you need a full-back who can cover at centre-back. I think the position they probably look for is a centre-forward, because as willing as he is, as hard-working as he is, Nunez simply doesn’t put enough chances away.<\/p>\n
