A teenage girl was left needing hospital treatment following a “serious sexual assault” in a Romford Park<\/a> yesterday (Sunday, February 15). A man, 18, has been arrested in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n Police were called to reports of the assault against a girl, in her late teens, in Cottons Park at around 7.30pm. She was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service “as a priority.”<\/p>\n An 18-year-old man was arrested by officers this morning.<\/p>\n A cordon remains in place in Cottons Park, while police carry out their enquires. They are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.<\/p>\n “We appreciate the concern that this will cause, but we want to reassure people that we have a person in custody and have increased patrols in the local area,” said a Metropolitan Police<\/a> spokesperson.<\/p>\n A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: \u201cWe were called at 7.49pm on Sunday 15 February to reports of an incident on Recreation Avenue, Romford.<\/p>\n \u201cWe sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.<\/p>\n \u201cWe treated a woman at the scene and took her to hospital as a priority.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting CAD 5791\/15FEB, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.<\/p>\n At the scene or have information?
