Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition bout has been pencilled in for just over two months’ time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger<\/a>, the clash between the American boxing legends<\/a> has been ‘tentatively set’ to go down in the Congo on April 25.<\/p>\n

Both men sent shockwaves through the boxing world in September when they announced they would be sharing the ring<\/a> in an exhibition bout this year.<\/p>\n

But things quickly went quiet, and with a lack of updates from either camp, members of the boxing fraternity began to believe the meeting was a lost cause.<\/p>\n

It took until December for another update on the clash, with Tyson suggesting venues in Africa<\/a> were being considered.<\/p>\n

Still, the meeting seemed nothing more than a fantasy.<\/p>\n

Kickboxing champion Mike Zambidis then seemingly announced<\/a> he would be facing Mayweather on June 27 in Athens which was seen as the final nail in the coffin of the clash.<\/p>\n

However, speaking to TMZ this month, Tyson reiterated his confidence in the bout materialising, and going off Coppinger’s latest report, we could well see ‘Iron Mike’ square off with ‘Money’ just over two months from now.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s happening. S***t, yeah, it\u2019s happening!” Tyson said.<\/p>\n

“You think I\u2019d give that up?! I was minding my business! He challenged me.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to party afterwards, baby! We\u2019ll have a ball afterwards!\u201d<\/p>\n

Naturally, there are fears now any time the veteran laces up his gloves again.<\/p>\n

Tyson claimed he ‘nearly died’<\/a> while preparing for his professional comeback clash in 2024 with Jake Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 59-year-old, who turns 60 on June 30, looked a complete shadow of himself during the clash, scarcely landing a punch, and putting a horrible defeat on his stellar record<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although he is now in declining physical condition, the former Brooklyn brawler insists he is actually in fantastic shape.<\/p>\n

“I feel incredible,” Tyson added.<\/p>\n

“Listen, I was an extra large [pulls at t-shirt], but we are a large now.”<\/p>\n

Tyson did look in good shape and has clearly remained in light training.<\/p>\n

Mayweather has contested a series of exhibition fights since retiring with a perfect 50-0 record, including against Logan PaulCredit: Amanda Westcott\/Showtime<\/p>\n

But it is unclear if he can go through any rigours of a full training camp again to try and step back in the ring.<\/p>\n

Given the enormous weight disparity, he would likely be comforted by knowing the bout won’t be sanctioned.<\/p>\n

Tyson is also unlikely to be sanctioned to fight as a pro again after his worrying admissions.<\/p>\n

As for Mayweather, the 48-year-old has contested a series of exhibition bouts since he retired with a 50-0 record after defeating Conor McGregor<\/a> in 2017.<\/p>\n
