Katherine Ryan has spoken for the first time about the father of her eldest child, 16, as she claims he is not really involved in his daughter’s life<\/p>\n

Katherine Ryan has spoken about the father of her daughter, 16, claiming he never pays for anything. The comedian – who also has three children with her husband Bobby Kootstra – has opened up about the dad of her eldest child.<\/p>\n

She rarely speaks about the father of her daughter Violet, 16, but has now revealed that he still has contact with his daughter but claimed he isn’t that involved in her daughter’s life. Katherine said on the Juicy Scoop<\/a> with Heather McDonald podcast: “I’ve been careful never to s**g him off just because I don’t think it’s the right thing to do.<\/p>\n

“And I really protected him while my daughter was young. I would never say anything bad about him. But now she’s 16, she can see for herself that unfortunately, he’s not a bad person, but he’s never made any sacrifices, never paid anything for her, just kind of texts her, which I think is breadcrumbing.<\/p>\n

“Like, ‘Hey, love you. How are you?’ Which is better than no contact. But he hasn’t been the type of dad that you would want for your daughter.”<\/p>\n

When asked if he is involved in Violet’s life, she admitted: “Not really.” Katherine decided to undergo a facelift procedure after welcoming her four children, saying she felt like she needed to do something for herself.<\/p>\n

Speaking on her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, she said: “The surgery was a facelift. Yes, a full facelift \u2013 a little bit of fat transfer to my cheekbone area, and a small bleph[aroplasty].<\/p>\n

“A bleph is when they take a tiny bit of your eyelid skin, though not too much, and then they\u2019ll usually, to avoid hollowness, put a little bit of fat back in there too. So I had some fat put in, like my upper face, my eyelids, and then I had a facelift.”<\/p>\n

She explained that she felt like she “needed” to do the surgery as wanted to “reclaim my autonomy”. She said: “Almost metaphorically, I needed to do something, to reclaim my identity, to reclaim my autonomy, to claw back the face that I had in, like, 2019.<\/p>\n

“I am not crazy. I\u2019m not trying to wind it back to 2006. I\u2019m just trying to look the way I did, like, pre-COVID, pre-six pregnancies in five years.” Katherine shares her youngest daughter, Holland, with her husband, Bobby Koostra, along with daughter Fenna and son Fred. The comedian also has a teenage daughter, Violet.<\/p>\n
