Today, members of the royal family carried out their planned engagements in the wake of the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/a> (formerly Prince Andrew). Queen Camilla attended a concert in London<\/a>; King Charles went to the opening of London Fashion Week<\/a>; and Princess Anne visited His Majesty\u2019s Prison Leeds, a planned appearance in her capacity as Patron of the Butler Trust.<\/p>\n

The Butler Trust<\/a>, established in 1985, is dedicated to \u201ccelebrating and promoting the best in UK prisons,\u201d focusing on those who work in the penal system. According to Royal Central<\/a>, \u201cIt is understood that there was no question of postponing the visit to Leeds, in keeping with a practice that has made her the most industrious of the King\u2019s siblings and one of the most consistently visible members of the Royal Family.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s highly unlikely her visit crossed paths with her younger brother, who was arrested<\/a> at Sandringham<\/a> in Norfolk, though the police will not confirm where Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is being held in custody. \u201cWhen anyone is arrested, we would never confirm where they are being held or interviewed,\u201d a spokesperson said, per the New York Times.<\/p>\n

Anne is also set to visit Abraham Moon and Sons, South Tees Occupational Therapy, and Carers Plus Yorkshire during her trip to West Yorkshire. It is not expected she will release a statement or comment on her brother\u2019s arrest. As T&C\u2019s Contributing Editor Victoria Murphy explained<\/a>, \u201cToday\u2019s statement from the King was a personal one in his own words and we understand that there won\u2019t be anything further or separate from William and Kate so it\u2019s clear that the King speaks for the whole family with this message.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his message, King Charles wrote<\/a>, \u201cLet me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.\u201d<\/p>\n
