Leeds United<\/a> were a side that Ange Postecoglou has admired for a long time, as the former Spurs and Nottingham Forest manager featured on Stick To Football.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Whites are not in any mood to change managers right now. Daniel Farke\u2019s fine work since the turn of December has put Leeds in a great position to steer clear of relegation fears<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Contrast that with Nottingham Forest<\/a>, who are on their fourth permanent manager of the season after sacking three since the start of the campaign.<\/p>\n

An ill-fated tenure in the middle of Forest\u2019s managerial merry-go-round<\/a> was former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The defiant Greek-born manager was dismissed from Spurs despite winning the Europa League last season. However, he was given a Premier League lifeline at the City Ground. Although, his time there lasted just eight games, winning none<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Having been previously linked with the Elland Road dugout<\/a> during the 22\/23 season, Postecoglou has now brought up his affinity with Leeds.<\/p>\n

Appearing on the Stick To Football podcast<\/a>, Postecoglou reflected on his upbringing. In which, he says he was heavily influenced by Leeds\u2019 brilliance in the 70s among others. The 60-year-old says he was made to watch football by his father Jim.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever you start talking that way, people say \u2018the proper way to play football\u2019. There\u2019s no right or wrong way,\u201d Postecoglou said. \u201cBut I do love the joy of goals and attacking football, because that\u2019s my father\u2019s influence. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn the 70s, he\u2019d get me up and we\u2019d watch Liverpool and he loved Leeds, because they had Eddie Gray and Peter Lorimer. He loved Johan Cruyff, the Dutch side in the \u201974 World Cup, all those things had an influence on me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Ange Postecoglou struggling to retain Premier League stock despite attacking mindset<\/p>\n

There\u2019s an idealistic view of Postecoglou and it\u2019s how brilliant his Spurs side looking during that initial run of form. But, it quickly unravelled and his defensive coaching was so alarming.<\/p>\n

Leeds could have had him in charge to replace Jesse Marsch and it\u2019s purely hypothetical what he could have achieved here. He could have got us playing some incredible stuff, but he could have relegated us. We got relegated anyway in fairness, so Postecoglou could have been an improvement on Javi Gracia.<\/p>\n

His impact at Forest is a major red flag, though. He was unable to turn the tide after Nuno Espirito Santo\u2019s exit and didn\u2019t get any chance to get settled before they ditched him.<\/p>\n

I do wonder what the future holds, because I think there\u2019s a good coach there.<\/p>\n
