A 59-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man have been arrested by the PSNI’s Predatory Lending Team.<\/p>\n
The pair were arrested in the Lisburn <\/a>area today, Thursday, February 19, on suspicion of illegal money lending and associated criminality. A significant amount of cash was also seized.<\/p>\n They have both since been released on bail, pending further inquiries.<\/p>\n Detective Inspector Cathy O’Hara<\/a> said: “A 59-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested in Lisburn<\/a> on suspicion of illegal money lending and associated criminality. A significant amount of cash was also seized.<\/p>\n \u201cIllegal money lenders exploit vulnerable people in Northern Ireland\u2019s most marginalised communities. It is completely false to claim that they are providing a community service.
