{"id":776767,"date":"2026-02-20T09:10:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/776767\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T09:10:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:10:12","slug":"north-kesteven-gp-surgery-closes-suddenly-after-watchdog-takes-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/776767\/","title":{"rendered":"North Kesteven GP surgery closes suddenly after watchdog takes action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A Lincolnshire GP practice has closed unexpectedly, with the <a aria-label=\"NHSLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk\/all-about\/nhs\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">NHS<\/a> unable to say when it will reopen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Cliff Villages Medical Practice, which covers the North Kesteven villages of Navenby and Waddington, has had its CQC (Care Quality Commission) registration removed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Health services say this is for &#8220;administration reasons&#8221;, and it will be unable to deliver services from the surgery on Grantham Road in Navenby until it&#8217;s reinstated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Patients have been told postponed appointments will be rearranged, and medicine which has already been ordered can be collected as usual.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A statement on the practice&#8217;s website says: &#8220;We regret to inform you that the practice is temporarily closed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;All appointments already held will be rearranged. There is no requirement to register with a new practice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Please be assured, we are still doing our best for our patients and we will keep you as informed as we can.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Staff are still available at the practice to answer urgent queries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board says it&#8217;s working with the practice to ensure it can reopen as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;This temporary closure is due to the removal of the practice&#8217;s Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration,&#8221; it says on its website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;CQC registration is a legal requirement for providing NHS services. This removal is due to administrative reasons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;We understand this may feel unsettling, but please be assured your care will continue, your records are secure, and you will be kept fully informed about next steps.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Patients needing urgent medical care can call 111, or 999 in emergencies, and pharmacies can also help with minor issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Lincolnshire GP practice has closed unexpectedly, with the NHS unable to say when it will reopen.
