\n\tNumerous luxury resorts and residential developments from Montana to Spain have tapped the design services of RH (formerly Restoration Hardware), or more specifically\u00a0RH Contract<\/a>, a division launched in 2007 with a focus on large-scale projects that factor in furnishings and fittings by the American manufacturer with a vast international footprint. That now includes The Whiteley, a plush residential complex in London<\/a> that has teamed up with RH Contract on a $17.9 million apartment.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpanning two floors, the duplex residence in the landmarked building, which formerly housed the British capital\u2019s first department store, spans a commodious 4,000 square feet with an open-plan layout. It\u2019s the latest residence to be offered in \u201cThe Designer Collection<\/a>\u201d by The Whiteley, which has already produced residential collabs with names like\u00a0Joyce Wang<\/a>and\u00a0Kelly Behun<\/a>\u00a0that have sold.<\/p>\n

\n\tBeyond the building\u2019s beautifully restored original Grade II listed 1911 facade, the three-bedroom home provides unobstructed views of the cityscape through wide arched windows in the great room. Chevron wood flooring featured throughout, as well as a stone backsplash in the kitchen, gives the abode a sense of timeless sophistication, its regal appeal inspired by royal warrants once bestowed upon the ornately embellished building from Queen Victoria and King George V.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe great room\u2019s double-height ceiling soars nearly 20 feet high, allowing an abundance of natural light to stream in. Curated furnishings available for purchase on top of the asking price, such as the Matteo Sofa and Scala Chair, blend in with its soft beige walls, while the great room\u2019s Rain Round Chandelier by master glass designer Alison Berger gives it a striking contrast. Caramel leather dining chairs surround an oval table in the dining area adjacent to the open kitchen, which features sleek appliances, a breakfast bar, wooden cabinetry, and stone countertops.<\/p>\n

\n\tUpstairs are a trio of bedrooms, each with their own unique touches. A polished brass mirror captivates in one, for example, alongside an oak bed frame and Sarezzo Stone Tempered Lamp. Boucl\u00e9 fabrics and velvet upholstery highlight the primary, alongside a chandelier inspired by 1950s Murano glass designs that add elegance to its private sitting room, which has a wall of internal windows that look down into the great room below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe apartment is one of 139 residences within the Whiteley, which had its grand opening back in March, with up to 70 percent of its residences sold, according to press materials. A 109-key hotel by Six Senses, its first in the U.K., sits alongside the complex, with a 65-foot indoor swimming pool and spa that features 12 treatment and consultation rooms. \u00a0<\/p>\n
