The 2025 Met Gala<\/a> was hit with a number of shocking last-minute cancellations<\/a>\u00a0 from longtime\u00a0veterans of the event to one of this year’s\u00a0honorary co-chairs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite knowing the event falls on the first Monday of May, these celebrities were unable to fit\u00a0fashion’s biggest night into their schedules or simply not interested in coming.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, DailyMail.com exclusively\u00a0confirmed<\/a> that\u00a0Jennifer Lopez<\/a>\u00a0was skipping the fundraiser.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She has been busy filming her new movie,\u00a0Office Romance,\u00a0in the New Jersey<\/a> area, which is located just outside of New York City<\/a>, where the event is held.<\/p>\n

Just days before the fundraiser,\u00a0Sarah Jessica Parker<\/a>, left fans stunned as she\u00a0also confirmed she would not be attending due to a\u00a0scheduling conflict.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The red carpet fixture has walked the famed steps of the Met 12 times since her first appearance in 1995.<\/p>\n

The theme of this year’s Met Gala is\u00a0Superfine: Tailoring Black Style and the co-chairs are Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton<\/a>, A$AP Rocky<\/a>, Pharrell Williams<\/a>, and Anna Wintour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hours before the event,\u00a0LeBron James<\/a>\u00a0broke the news he would not be making his Met debut, despite his role as the event\u2019s honorary chair.<\/p>\n

The NBA<\/a>\u00a0superstar took to X to express his devastation as he\u00a0explained his absence was due to a knee injury that he ‘sustained at the end of the season.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I won\u2019t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on! Hate to miss an historical event!’ he wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

James, 40, noted that his wife Savannah, 38, would be attending in his place.\u00a0<\/p>\n
