The Duchess of Sussex\u2019s father will be fitted for a prosthetic leg soon, his son has revealed.<\/p>\n

Thomas Markle Snr, 81, has been in rehabilitation since his left leg was amputated in a three-hour life-saving operation in December<\/a>. Speaking from the Philippines, where Mr Markle now lives, his son Thomas Jnr, 59, said: \u201cHe\u2019s going through therapy. He\u2019s going through physical rehab.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to get him fitted for a prosthetic here pretty soon and get that man walking again. That\u2019s the goal. That\u2019s the priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Hollywood lighting director nearly died when a blood clot in his left thigh cut off the blood supply to his foot. Doctors amputated below the knee.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the Duchess\u2019s representatives said she had \u201creached out\u201d to her dad. Meghan, who has been estranged from him since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry<\/a>, sent a letter to his hospital bedside, which was delivered by US embassy officials.<\/p>\n

But her half-brother, who previously said their father\u2019s health insurance will not cover the cost of his care, claims Meghan, 44, has still not paid anything to help. Her dad has also had two heart attacks and a stroke in recent years.<\/p>\n

In a new video posted on YouTube<\/a>, Thomas Jnr said: \u201cIt\u2019s just mind-boggling how you could just continue to walk through life and not even give the man a phone call and pay for the best medical care that Dad needs right now.<\/p>\n
