Police and civil enforcement officers dished out a dozen tickets to double parked cars in Winson GreenTraffic Enforcement 4-2-26<\/p>\n

This is the baffling sight of double parked cars left in the middle of roads in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead of finding a kerbside space, some drivers thought it was best to plonk their cars next to rows of parked vehicles.<\/p>\n

Some time later the properly parked vehicles were driven off, leaving the double parked cars stranded in the roads.<\/p>\n

Residents of Willes Road, Preston Road and Markby Road in Winson Green, were fed up of the dangerous obstructions which were also impacting refuse trucks and emergency services vehicles.<\/p>\n

They voiced their concerns to local campaigner Shuranjeet Singh who pressed civil enforcement department to act.<\/p>\n

Mr Singh said nearly a dozen fixed penalty notices were issued by officers within an hour earlier this month during a walkabout.<\/p>\n

He said: “I have been speaking to residents on Willes, Preston and Markby Road who are fed up of issues like double parking.<\/p>\n

“It causes obstructions for other cars, makes life harder for refuse trucks and ambulances. It is unacceptable. “So I engaged the local police force and did a patrol with them alongside civil enforcement officers.<\/p>\n

“In about an hour they gave 11 tickets and the police officer recorded a separate criminal offence.<\/p>\n

“Residents were happy to see enforcement but much more needs to be done to resolve the issue.”<\/p>\n
