{"id":78276,"date":"2025-05-06T04:59:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T04:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/78276\/"},"modified":"2025-05-06T04:59:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T04:59:11","slug":"highland-charities-and-individuals-shortlisted-for-annual-scottish-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/78276\/","title":{"rendered":"Highland charities and individuals shortlisted for annual Scottish awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 2028 1824\" alt=\"Boleskine from left: Jo Mitchell, Katherine Grant, Billy Mackenzie, Olivia Grant and Susan Erlam.\" data-root=\"\/_media\/img\/\" data-path=\"CXGBEMG3LSQBP5NWP8F2.jpg\" data-ar=\"1.11\"\/>Boleskine from left: Jo Mitchell, Katherine Grant, Billy Mackenzie, Olivia Grant and Susan Erlam.<\/p>\n<p>Several Highland charities and individuals have been shortlisted for the Scottish Charity Awards 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inverness-courier.co.uk\/news\/game-changing-grant-awarded-to-care-charity-near-loch-ness-f-379339\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boleskine Community Care<\/a> (BCC) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inverness-courier.co.uk\/news\/highland-business-women-choose-rasash-as-their-charity-of-th-373028\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highlands<\/a> (RASASH) have both been shortlisted as charities.<\/p>\n<p>RNLI\u2019s Juliet Blackie, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inverness-courier.co.uk\/news\/charity-marks-25-years-with-start-of-work-to-create-scotland-378451\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Start Highland\u2019s<\/a> Louise Anderson, Cromarty Courthouse Museum\u2019s Liz Broumley have also made the cut.<\/p>\n<p>Run annually by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the Scottish Charity Awards celebrate the best of Scotland\u2019s voluntary sector.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s shortlist includes 42 individuals and organisations from charities and voluntary groups across the country following a record-breaking number of nominations.<\/p>\n<p>Susan Erlam, Trustee of BCC said: \u201cWe\u2019re incredibly honoured to be named a finalist in this year\u2019s Charity Awards. It\u2019s proof that even a small organisation can make a big impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While a judging panel will determine the winners under ten distinct categories, members of the public can have their say by voting for their favourite overall entry in the People\u2019s Choice Award.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 Scottish Charity Awards winners will be announced at a celebratory awards ceremony in Glasgow on June 19.<\/p>\n<p>Anna Fowlie, chief executive of SCVO, said: &#8220;This year&#8217;s shortlisting was as difficult as ever with the phenomenal work of the voluntary sector really demonstrated in our entries. Our finalists represent the very best of Scottish society, making life-changing impacts every single day in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;SCVO is delighted that we can again highlight their work at our awards ceremony, which will take place in June. Now it is down to the public. Our People&#8217;s Choice vote is open now, giving you an opportunity to get involved and pick your favourite finalist from all of our categories.
