PARIS – France will summon US Ambassador to France Charles Kushner following comments made by the US Embassy regarding the death of Quentin Deranque, a French far-right activist, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Barrot said in an interview with French media that the US Embassy in France had commented on the tragedy, which he described as concerning “the national community,” prompting France to call in the ambassador.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Friday, the US Embassy said on X account that “violent left-wing extremism is on the rise, and its role in Quentin Deranque’s death demonstrates the threat it poses to public safety,” adding that it would continue to monitor the situation and hoped those responsible for the violence would be brought to justice.<\/p>\n
