{"id":784575,"date":"2026-02-23T22:37:26","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T22:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/784575\/"},"modified":"2026-02-23T22:37:26","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T22:37:26","slug":"liverpool-chef-to-appear-on-bbcs-great-british-menu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/784575\/","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool chef to appear on BBC&#8217;s Great British Menu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Liverpool restaurant NORD has announced that Executive Chef Daniel Heffy will appear in the upcoming series of\u00a0Great British Menu, representing North West England in the opening regional heat of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The new series begins on Tuesday 24 February at 7pm on BBC Two, with all three episodes from the North West heat also available to stream on BBC iPlayer from the same morning.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s competition celebrates British movies and film-makers from each chef\u2019s region, with the winning dishes set to be served at a prestigious banquet at Liverpool\u2019s St George\u2019s Hall. The programme is presented by Andi Oliver, with judging from Michelin-starred chef and two-time banquet winner Tom Kerridge, comedian Phil Wang, and Michelin-starred chef Lorna McNee, a former Champion of Champions.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GBM.s21.NW1_.chefslisa-scaled-e1771865144179.jpg\" alt=\"Credit: Great British Menu \/ Nineteen Daniel Heffy NORD The Guide Liverpool\" class=\"wp-image-234568\"\/>Credit: Great British Menu \/ Nineteen<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in Liverpool, Daniel Heffy began his culinary career at the age of 16 while working aboard Royal Navy vessels as part of the Sea Cadets, before completing his formal culinary training and refining his skills under chef Paul Askew. He went on to help shape several of the city\u2019s notable food ventures, including The Art School Restaurant, the Secret Diners Club supper series, and the popular Buyers Club, building a reputation for combining local produce with refined, modern techniques.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Daniel moved to Stockholm to work at the acclaimed three-Michelin-starred Frantz\u00e9n before joining Nordic restaurant Adam\/Albin as Head Chef, where he helped the restaurant secure its Michelin star.
