The defense is expect to provide a rebuttal Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Last week in court, testimony focused around Schleier\u2019s difficulties seeking proper treatment for his mental break, which resulted in the death of his his five-year-old son, Jack. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/foundation2.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/foundation2.org\/\">Foundation 2<\/a> is one of two 988 responders in Cedar Rapids and offers free, confidential, 24\/7 assistance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The intention of the donors \u2014 who are friends close to the Schleier family \u2014 is to reduce stigma around mental health and encourage more people to reach out for help.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Victoria Schleier, Jack\u2019s mother, expressed gratitude to the families making this donation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe are deeply grateful to those whose generous gift makes this possible,\u201d she shared in a statement. \u201cTheir commitment represents a positive step forward in advancing mental health awareness and advocacy in our community. Acts of love like this remind us to do what we can, when we can, to create lasting change in the lives of individuals and families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Foundation 2 Crisis Services says it\u2019s working with the donors to expand community outreach and workplace mental health training for businesses, and honoring Jack\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe are grateful for this gift and the message it sends regarding destigmatizing mental health,\u201d said Emily Blomme, CEO at Foundation 2 Crisis Services. \u201cThe intention is expanded awareness and we\u2019re optimistic that this gift will be the reason someone decides to call Foundation 2.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCRG.
