The PS Store has gradually been getting better throughout the PS5’s lifecycle, and another update has arrived on the console storefront to make your purchases that little bit more informed.<\/p>\n

In an update that’s rolling out globally at the time of writing, Sony has made it so that a game’s PS Store page now shows the price at which the game launched.<\/p>\n

So, for example, The Last of Us: Part I<\/a> is going for \u00a331.49 in the current sale<\/a>, but above the current price, you can now see the game’s launch price \u2014 in this case, \u00a369.99.<\/p>\n

If you highlight it, the PS Store will tell you the game’s price at launch, which it maintained for at least its first 30 days on sale.<\/p>\n

Below the launch price, the PS Store shows the lowest price a game has been in the last 30 days, which has been implemented<\/a> since October of last year.<\/p>\n

It all helps to make the PS Store a more transparent place to shop; we presume this newly added detail is some sort of legal requirement in certain markets, hence the sudden appearance, but it’s appreciated all the same.<\/p>\n

The PS Store still doesn’t quite have the same level of granular information as sites like psprices or dekudeals, which include all kinds of metrics like Metascores, lowest-ever prices, and more. It’s a step in the right direction, though.<\/p>\n
