Currently the opulent landmark &#8211; which has been compared to Hogwarts &#8211; can be toured by anyone for free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Boasting Western Europe&#8217;s largest marble staircase, ceilings decorated with 1.5 million mosaic tiles and grand granite pillars, the property has emerged as a clear tourist attraction. <a aria-label=\"CouncilLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/glagsow-city-council\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Council<\/a> budget proposals which were published today would see people pay a fee to visit the building for the first time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A second idea floated in the proposals is to make the property available for more external events. A report presented to the council said an option to open the city chambers &#8220;will investigate the opportunity to capitalise on the unique cultural political and architectural position of <a aria-label=\"GlasgowLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/glasgow\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Glasgow<\/a> City Chambers and a revitalised George Square by introducing paid for tours and experiences and increased use for external events&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a aria-label=\"Glasgow City CouncilLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/glasgow-city-council\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Glasgow City Council<\/a> has not yet released a potential pricing plan.
