In truth, Bristol City\u2019s number one had very little to do<\/a> in the opening 45 minutes against Blackburn Rovers, with Yuki Ohashi\u2019s opener too well struck for him to prevent. The sole save he had to make before the break was routine, as he turned a header over his crossbar.<\/p>\n The Manchester United loanee was much busier in the second half as he pulled off several impressive stops – including what proved to be the match-winning moment deep in stoppage time – to ensure that the Robins\u2019 work at the other end was rewarded. Defensively, he did very little wrong, and on the ball, he offered a genuine attacking threat. The 25-year-old\u2019s pass in the lead-up to Scott Twine\u2019s goal was superb, as were a couple of his overlapping runs. In the second half, his work out of possession really stood out, with his tackle on Andri Gudjohnsen the stand-out. A really, really good display.<\/p>\n Noah Eile – 7.5<\/p>\n In all honesty, Noah Eile\u2019s showing at Ewood Park<\/a> was just a really composed defensive display. The Swede won most of the duels he entered in the air and led from the heart of the backline throughout. In possession, he has really impressed so far, with his range of passing and ability to take the ball in difficult positions is a joy to see. The 23-year-old brings something that City have been missing without Zak Vyner and now Rob Dickie.<\/p>\n Rob Atkinson (off for Neto Borges, 46\u2019) – 6.5<\/p>\n Was Rob Atkinson slightly slow in the build-up<\/a> to Blackburn\u2019s opener, when he was left chasing shadows as Royoya Moshita broke down the right? Maybe, but he was otherwise solid from the left of the Bristol City backline. The injury that saw him withdrawn at the break looked a nasty one, and you can\u2019t help but worry how long he could be ruled out for, especially with Rob Dickie sidelined.<\/p>\n Mark Sykes – 7.5<\/p>\n Like many of his teammates, Bristol City supporters in the away end at Ewood Park saw two sides of Mark Sykes<\/a> against Blackburn on Tuesday. In the first half, he was a rampaging wing-back, causing plenty of problems down the right flank. In the second, he was very much a fifth defender as he ensured all three points would be returning to BS3 by any means necessary. The Bristol City skipper battled and scrapped from start to finish, whilst popping in much more advanced positions than he managed away to Swansea. This was much more of a typical Knight showing. Hopefully, it is a sign he\u2019s getting back to his best.<\/p>\n Sam Morsy (off for Adam Randell, 58\u2019) – 6.5<\/p>\n Was Sam Morsy the stand-out in Bristol City colours<\/a> at Ewood Park? No, but he did what was needed of him alongside Jason Knight in the middle of the park. The 34-year-old dropped deep alongside the backline to progress the ball and let those ahead of him do the rest. It may not be the most eye-catching of jobs, but it was important in a very good first-half showing.<\/p>\n Cam Pring – 7.5<\/p>\n Restored to the starting line-up for the first time since that miserable night against Derby County, this was a proper wing-back\u2019s display from Cam Pring<\/a>. Defensively, the academy graduate appeared to win every challenge he entered over the course of the contest, with several sliding, last-ditch efforts catching the eye. In possession, he was lively throughout, and while it took a deflection, it was his cross that Emil Riis slotted home on the volley.<\/p>\n Tomi Horvat (off for Max Bird, 90+2\u2019) – 7.5<\/p>\n He may not have got a goal or assist during Bristol City\u2019s impressive first-half display in Lancashire, but Tomi Horvat was at the heart<\/a> of so much of what the Robins did well. The deadline day addition caused Blackburn countless problems from the right flank, whether it be in open play or from set-pieces. The Slovenian\u2019s second-half showing was a bit more low-key, but he chipped in defensively to help the Reds see out all three points. It was also good to see him get through (almost) 90 minutes for the first time as a City player,<\/p>\n Scott Twine (off for Delano Burgzorg, 58\u2019) – 7.5<\/p>\n Another, like George Tanner, who has been the subject of a reasonable amount of fan frustration lately, Scott Twine had a mixed first half<\/a> against Blackburn but popped up when Bristol City needed him. His finish for the Robins\u2019 second goal was superb and the sort of moment of magic that has made him so endearing to Gerhard Struber. The Dane was up for a battle from the referee\u2019s first whistle as he willingly ran in-behind and battled away at the top end of the field to link with his teammates. His touch and finish for City\u2019s opener were excellent, as was his pass to Scott Twine for the second. He may have faded a little heading into the second half, but by taking him off before the hour mark, Gerhard Struber will likely be hoping he can pick up where he left off against Watford on Friday evening.<\/p>\n Substitutes:Neto Borges – 6.5<\/p>\n The Brazilian slotted into the backline well following Rob Atkinson\u2019s injury, to help see out the points. He did what was needed of him, even if he wasn\u2019t superb.<\/p>\n Adam Randell – 6.5<\/p>\n Introduced in place of Sam Morsy, Adam Randell added some much-needed energy after a slow start to the second half.
