Alisson’s name figured prominently in Italian press reports this week, after it was claimed that Juventus views him as a possible goalkeeper signing.<\/p>\n

Brazil No.1 Alisson<\/a>, who is into his eighth season as a Liverpool<\/a> player, is set to become a free agent in 2027, and it is suggested that Juve could look to snap him up this summer \u2013 clearly hoping to capitalize on his contract situation on Merseyside.<\/p>\n

Italian outlet Gazzetta<\/a> says that Juve had originally targeted Mike Maignan of AC Milan, but that the Turin club had to assess new targets after Maignan signed a new contract at San Siro.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, it is suggested that Alisson is viewed as a “budget option” for Juve this summer, should the club fail to make it into next season’s Champions League and miss out on the riches that come with qualification.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it is reported that Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario would be Juve’s top target were the club to allocate a bigger budget to signing a new goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Speaking last summer, Alisson said he had not given too much thought to his long-term future, particularly with the World Cup on the horizon.<\/p>\n

\u201cPersonally, I have never been able to plan for the long term,\u201d Alisson told O Globo<\/a>. \u201cObviously, I have one year left on my contract and another year of option from the club. They will probably exercise that option.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think about what I have in hand, about doing a great job, it is a decisive moment in my career, with a World Cup approaching. I want to be very focused, I don\u2019t want any planning to get in the way of this great goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking in 2020, Alisson said he wanted to return to play for Brazilian club Internacional \u2013 the club he began his career at \u2013 before hanging up his gloves.<\/p>\n

“I have the desire to return to Brazil, but when it will happen, only God knows,” Alisson said. “I know that God has something for me, I want to follow God\u2019s plans for my life, but my heart\u2019s desire for when I return to Brazil, if God goes to answer it, is to return to Inter, home, the club that I love.<\/p>\n
