ANTHONY JOSHUA has revealed he’s on course to punch a serious investment in Watford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former two-time unified heavyweight champion, who has earned over \u00a3219MILLION<\/strong> in his boxing<\/a> career, grew up in the town and has given back to the community through his Clean Herts Community initiative over the years.<\/p>\n

But the Watford warrior, 35, now wants to use his millions in the bank to help get the Bees buzzing again.<\/p>\n

He told SecondsOut<\/a>: “We wanted to move into private equity, venture capital funds.<\/p>\n

“As you earn, naturally, you want to save.<\/p>\n

“So rather than me spending recklessly I\u2019m trying to invest money into certain asset classes and that was an opportunity that presented itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing\u2019s come of it yet. It\u2019s a serious investment. If it comes off it\u2019s one that should do well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they went back to the Premier League, then I\u2019d need to get a shop on Market Street because the traffic that would be coming through Watford would be phenomenal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we don\u2019t do it then good luck to them anyway because they\u2019re a great team.”<\/p>\n

Watford ended the Championship<\/a> season in 14th place, a whopping 11 points off the final play-off place.<\/p>\n

Joshua has been on the sidelines since his crushing fifth-round KO defeat to Daniel Dubois<\/a> in their Wembley war last September.<\/p>\n

AJ is currently eyeing a long-overdue Battle of Britain with rival Tyson Fury<\/a>, who recently performed a public U-turn on his latest retirement.<\/p>\n

But their mammoth domestic dust-up won’t take place any time soon as Joshua is set to go under the knife<\/a> in the coming weeks to address a long-standing elbow injury.<\/p>\n

When quizzed about his ring return, he told DAZN: “I’m trying to get my body right.<\/p>\n

“I have got to actually have a little surgery on my elbow.<\/p>\n

“A small surgery sometime in May. I’m finalising the details.<\/p>\n

“That will see me out of the gym for maybe six to eight weeks, and then when I’m healed, I will be back.”<\/p>\n
