Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley became the latest person to add their name to Salford\u2019s centenary celebration book at an art exhibition in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n The book is on display inside Salford Museum and Art Gallery, where a collection of banners created by two talented artists, Broughton residents and community centre members have been hung to mark the start of the city\u2019s centenary celebrations.<\/p>\n Created by local creative organisation Art with Heart, the book pays homage to the old corporation buses of Salford, fusing bottle green with a gold coat of arms.<\/p>\n Throughout 2025, the book travelled across all 8 neighbourhoods of Salford for local residents to sign. The book travelled to schools, food banks, community centres, libraries, museums, festivals and fairs.<\/p>\n Catherine said: \u201cSalford is an integral artery in the beating heart of Manchester.<\/p>\n \u201cThe community of Salford are fiercely loyal, relentless in work ethic and wear their huge, cobbled hearts on their sleeves. I am so proud to be a working class Salfordian.<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t be where I am today without this Salford family. I will always show up for this place.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s my blood, my drive, my spirit. I\u2019ll always be grateful for the love, support, the struggles- it\u2019s all been part of my journey. Salford is my route home.\u201d<\/p>\n Sarah Leung works as an independent casting director across film, television, theatre, and musical theatre, casting actors for a wide range of productions.<\/p>\n She was delighted to have added her name to the list of signatories and said: \u201cNo matter where I go, Salford will always feel like home.
