European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said the strikes in Iran \u201cmust not lead to a spiral of escalation<\/a> that could threaten the Middle East, Europe and beyond.\u201d In a post on X<\/a>, she called Tehran\u2019s counterattacks on U.S. bases in Persian Gulf countries \u201cinexcusable and unjustifiable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kallas spoke<\/a> to Israel\u2019s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and is \u201ccoordinating closely with Arab partners to explore diplomatic paths,\u201d she said in a post<\/a> on X. <\/p>\n

Poland\u2019s President Donald Tusk called on Polish citizens in Iran to stay safe and follow instructions of local authorities, in a post<\/a> on X. \u201cThe unity of Poles on the issue of security is particularly important today,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said \u201cthe most important thing is to stop the strikes and any possible counterstrikes as quickly as possible\u201d in a post<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n

Cyprus has activated a plan for the \u201csafe evacuation of citizens from nearby crisis areas (from the broader Middle East region)\u201d via the country, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said in another post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a video<\/a> posted on X, U.S. President Donald Trump called the strikes a \u201cmassive and ongoing operation.\u201d He said Iran has attempted to rebuild its nuclear program. <\/p>\n

In another social media post<\/a>, he said Tehran is developing long-range missiles that threaten \u201cour very good friends and allies in Europe, our troops stationed overseas and could soon reach the American homeland.\u201d<\/p>\n
