A planned closure on the A4 Portway has been moved forward by one night as part of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/bristol-city-council\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bristol City Council&#8217;s<\/a> work to improve the bus entrance to Portway Park &amp; Ride.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The busy road will be closed overnight as of today (Tuesday, May 6) from 9.30pm until 5.30am, between its junctions with West Town Road and Barrowhill Road. The same stretch will be closed during the same hours on the evening of Wednesday, May 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The \u00a32 million project to improve the Portway Park &amp; Ride bus entrance, located on the A4 in Shirehampton, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/2-million-project-improve-bus-9879504\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">began in February.<\/a> The bus junction is being widened and altered during the nine-month project to allow more bus services to stop there when travelling to and from the northwest of the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The 9 service (<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/brislington\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"BrislingtonLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Brislington<\/a> Park &amp; Ride to Portway Park &amp; Ride), which already serves the park and ride, could also be developed and improve connectivity from the city centre to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/avonmouth\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"AvonmouthLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Avonmouth<\/a>.
