The Low Pay Commission was working on equalising the minimum wage across age groups, they\u2019ve now been stood down\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The FT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/0f9e35d8-1908-4394-ab39-556bdf8e437a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a> officials have been told the equalisation doesn\u2019t have to happen until next decade. The rates area already going up next month by 8.5% to \u00a310.85 for 18-20-year-olds, approaching the \u00a312.71 for 21s and above. Labour pledged in its manifesto to equalise the rates\u2026<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/order-order.com\/2026\/02\/17\/unemployment-rate-rises-to-highest-level-in-nearly-five-years\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unemployment skyrocketing<\/a> Reeves has backed off that policy.
