<\/p>\nTwo teenagers arrested on suspicion of stealing an Audi and driving dangerously following a high-speed pursuit across Birmingham<\/p>\n

A stolen Audi hit more than 100mph as the driver tried to outrun police before it flipped onto its roof at Spaghetti Junction.<\/p>\n
The Audi Q2 SUV was stolen yesterday, Sunday, March 1 in a car key burglary.<\/p>\n
It was spotted by officers heading towards Yardley Wood<\/a> last on that night on false plates.<\/p>\n READ MORE: \u2018School war\u2019 warning in city suburb as headteacher alerts parents<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Police tried to stop the car but the driver failed to pull over.<\/p>\n The Audi was pursued by police, with the help of the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter.<\/p>\n The driver hit speeds of 70mph in 30mph zones and topped 100mph several times, jumping red lights.<\/p>\n It crashed at Salford Circus, the roundabout below Spaghetti Junction, in the Gravelly Hill area of Erdington<\/a>, landing on its roof just after 1am.<\/p>\n Get breaking news on BirminghamLive WhatsApp<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Three people were in the car. Police arrested two teenage boys after help from the police\u2019s dog unit.<\/p>\n One was at a nearby petrol station and a second was found in bushes not far away. A third person fled the scene.<\/p>\n The boys, aged 16 and 17, were detained on suspicion of dangerous driving, burglary and failing to stop. They remained in police custody this afternoon as enquiries continued.<\/p>\n READ MORE: \u2018Nightmare\u2019 pothole keeping residents awake gets fix but repair concerns raised<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: \u201cTwo suspected car key burglars are in custody today after our teams spotted them in a suspected stolen vehicle and arrested them in Birmingham<\/a> in the early hours.<\/p>\n \u201cActing on intelligence from a car owner whose Audi Q2 had been stolen earlier yesterday, it was spotted on false plates by officers heading towards Yardley<\/a> Wood late last night.<\/p>\n \u201cIt failed to stop for officers and was seen to hit speeds of up to 70mph as it was driven through 30mph zones. With support from the police helicopter, it was pursued by our specialist traffic officers.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was driven along the wrong side of a dual carriageway, at times hitting speeds of more than 100mph and going through red traffic lights, before it crashed at Salford Circus, landing on its roof, just after 1am.\u201d<\/p>\n
