An update has emerged regarding the backstage reaction to Danhausen making his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber 2026.<\/p>\n
Former AEW star Danhausen was revealed as the mystery inside the crate that had been going back and forth between Raw and SmackDown in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
After he came out of the crate on the stage, he made his entrance and handed a jar of teeth to Michael Cole<\/a> before the lights dimmed down, with the crowd noticeably booing afterwards, leading to many labelling the debut as a failure.<\/p>\n On Wrestling Observer Radio<\/a> today, Dave Meltzer reacted to Danhausen\u2019s debut, and mentioned that there are people in WWE who actually didn\u2019t want him to be signed.<\/p>\n He said:<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, it was the Gobbledy Gooker. That\u2019s what it was. They finally managed to do another Gobbledy Gooker.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll see. It\u2019s a weird one, because with Paul Levesque, the way he books, I don\u2019t see where this guy fits in. He could do the R-Truth thing, but they have R-Truth. You don\u2019t need two R-Truths. I know he\u2019s not the same thing, but it\u2019s just sort of that gimmick mascot guy that doesn\u2019t wrestle.<\/p>\n \u201cBecause there\u2019s no upside for him to do wrestling matches. Him going and doing his shtick might get over. It\u2019s WWE, on paper I would have thought that it would for a while, and then it would just become commonplace and then it wouldn\u2019t mean much. But who knows.<\/p>\n \u201cIf they put him in the ring on a regular basis it would be\u2026 they won\u2019t. He\u2019s not their kinda guy. Not saying he\u2019s bad, but in this day and age, to get regular TV appearances, you\u2019ve got to either be an awesome talker \u2013 which, he\u2019s a gimmick talker \u2013 or you have to be really freakin\u2019 good in the ring, or be a big muscular dude, and he doesn\u2019t fit that.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople pushed for him, and there were people who didn\u2019t want him. This was not a unanimous decision or anything like that. I would guess that the people who didn\u2019t want him are thinking, \u2018Hmm, sure didn\u2019t work out so well this time.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cBut in time, time will tell. He\u2019ll get another chance.
