While packing and cleaning, the tensions begin to rise as Allen tries to deal with his grief and his boyfriend tries to play nice with the rest of the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, a living scarecrow named Billy creeps in the shadows, killing anyone who speaks ill of his dead creator or plans to sell the farmland he calls home. Using the organs harvested from his victims, Billy makes living scarecrows of his own. With violent scarecrows lurking around every corner, Allen and his friends must overcome their interpersonal conflicts and figure out a way to escape Billy\u2019s wrath.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The film was\u00a0written and directed by\u00a0<strong>Alix Moad<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Evan Runkle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Shepherd, Bill D. Russell, Justin Marxen, Calvin T. Shepherd, Randy Rochford, Justin Heinz, Savanna Steinhoff, Jared Chandler, J. In fact,\u00a0Thorns\u00a0looks like something of a lost\u00a0Hellraiser\u00a0sequel, right down to<strong>\u00a0Doug Bradley<\/strong>\u00a0starring in the film.<\/p>\n<p>The film was released onto VOD outlets beginning today. Thorns\u00a0is said to be \u201cripe with physical makeup effects and plenty of gore,\u201d and you can watch the trailer below for a taste.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Thorns, \u201cAn ex-priest working for NASA is sent to investigate a remote observatory that went silent after receiving a mysterious radio signal from deep space. Upon arrival, he discovers the signal has opened a portal unleashing a thorned monster. The former priest must now summon his lost faith to stop the signal from jumpstarting the end of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Douglas Schulze previews, \u201cAt its core,\u00a0Thorns\u00a0is an homage to 80\u2019s era monster movies, from our use of practical effects to a synth fueled music score and lots of easter eggs.\u00a0Hellraiser, The Thing, Alien\u00a0are all great films with even greater practical makeup effects. That\u2019s the premise behind writer\/director\u00a0<strong>Peter McLeod\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0indie\u00a0<strong>First Moon<\/strong>, which looks to mix the werewolf and exorcism subgenres.<\/p>\n<p>First Moon howled its way onto VOD outlets today.<\/p>\n<p>In the film, \u201cA waitress is abducted by a religious cult, who are hell-bent on curing her from a werewolf virus \u2013 or killing her in the process. Will she escape before her first full moon?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lauren Esposito<\/strong>\u00a0(The Conjuring 2) stars alongside\u00a0<strong>Julian Curtis<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Shannon Ryan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all agree that werewolves are monsters,\u201d McLeod said. \u201cI wanted to delve into the idea of what makes someone monstrous. We vilify people in the real world easily, but psychologically, if you dig down far enough, very few people are truly evil.
