It\u2019s similar to an iPhone feature that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/2\/7\/16984234\/how-to-iphone-throttling-ios-11-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched in 2018<\/a>, but unlike that rollout, it won\u2019t be available on the older devices that probably need it the most.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/android-16-battery-health-menu-missing-older-google-pixels-3554776\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Android Authority<\/a> and pointed out on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/android_beta\/comments\/1kfxiqy\/official_word_from_google_on_battery_health_for\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a>, a Google developer on the <a href=\"https:\/\/issuetracker.google.com\/issues\/403373209?pli=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">public Android Issue Tracker site<\/a> said the battery health indicator feature will only come to the company\u2019s Pixel 8A and newer models, and that Google \u201cwon\u2019t fix\u201d the problem because it\u2019s \u201cinfeasible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The note, in response to users testing on devices including the Pixel 6 and Pixel 8 Pro, reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"duet--article--blockquote ewrhy30 _1xwtict9\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup ewrhy38 _1xwtict1\">Status: Won\u2019t Fix (Infeasible)<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup ewrhy38 _1xwtict1\">Thank you for reporting this. The Battery Health Indicator feature is currently supported in Beta 3 on Pixel 8a and Pixel 9 products including 9 Pro Fold. Due to product limitations, this feature will not be available on older in-market Pixel devices.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Google launched the battery health indicator to Android 16 beta testers in March and has been spotted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/12\/21\/24011265\/android-battery-health-indicator-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">working on some form of the utility<\/a> since 2023.
